We have a very simple and democratic membership system.
-
The majority of Scottish players are members of the
Association through their home club. Each club pays an
annual club affiliation fee to the SPA plus a ‘per
capita’ affiliation fee for each member – this means
that every member of every affiliated club is a member
of the SPA and, therefore, has a say in how the sport is
run in Scotland.
-
We also have Individual members who are not members of a
club and who pay an annual fee directly to the
Association.
Each player receives a membership card when they join either
the SPA or a club and this doubles as an International
Licence once a photograph has been attached and stamped by
the SPA. As we are affiliated directly to the world
governing body (the FIPJP) this licence allows the member to
play in competitions throughout the world where a licence is
required.
Individual members and new clubs can apply for membership
using the forms below.

Please note: Club
secretaries are no longer able to issue SPA licences to
their members. Licences will be sent on request to any
fully paid up member (either via an affiliated club or as an
individual) on production of a recent photograph. Licenses
are required to compete in SPA events and international
competitions. If you would like a licence please contact
Gordon Scott.
